The Journey to GTM

The idea for GTM didn’t happen overnight. 

The tipping point came when founder Christine Dunbeck was laid off early in 2024 – a time when MANY marketing positions were being cut.

It was a difficult time, but it gave her the space to reflect on what she truly wanted to do next. 

“I asked myself, what lights me up?” 

And that question led her down the path to founding GTM. As an on-and-off entrepreneur, Christine always had a passion for supporting others in their journeys.

“I realized that one of my core values is to help others. I wanted to use my hard-earned knowledge to make other marketers’ lives easier and better. I didn’t want them to have to go through what I went through.”  

As the marketing world continues to evolve at a break-neck pace, it’s clear that things are only going to get more complex, crowded, and confusing.

“That’s why I decided to create GTM—so that we could have a place to get away from the noise and advice and demands- and just focus on marketing.” 

Overcoming Industry Challenges with GTM

Picture this: Your boss asks you to hop on Zoom with him. “I have something to show you.” He says. 

You click on the Zoom link he sends over Slack. 

“Are you ready for this?” he says. 

“Ready as I’ll ever be.” 

He shares his screen. It’s a PowerPoint with all-new brand colors and fonts. 

“I was up half the night making this.” 

You swallow. 

“Our brand design is all wrong. We’re not standing out.” 

Ok, you think. Ok. You’ve been trying to get him to nail down a direction for the brand for months. This could be good. 

“Well, I love it.” You say. Because you do. It’s great. “Are we looking to launch the new brand in 3 months or so?” 

He shakes his head. 

“No. In two weeks.”

If I had to guess, we’ve all run into an experience like the one above.
