Christine founded Commvey in May of 2019. She oversees the strategy and vision of the organization. She is an award-winning communication professional with experience in marketing, public relations, digital marketing, social media, messaging, branding, strategic planning, advertising, and media relations. Christine is also skilled in project management, with a PM certificate from the University of Wisconsin, ensuring that projects are done on time, within budget, and at top-notch quality. With a passion for supporting her industry, Christine has served as a member and board member for the following organizations: Southeastern Wisconsin Public Relations Society of America, TEMPO Milwaukee Emerging Women Leaders, 414 Digital, Toastmasters, and Junior League of Milwaukee. In her spare time, Christine enjoys spending time with her family, reading, crafting, and traveling.
Steph has dedicated her life to fighting for her community. Born and raised in Chile, she moved to the United States before starting high school. She received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from UW-Oshkosh, and went on to pursue a career in organizing. Throughout her career, Steph has participated in political campaigns, issue campaigns, union work, direct action organizing, and nonprofit work, all of which have been focused on the progressive movement. Her experiences have taken her across the country, from Wisconsin to North Carolina, Texas, Nevada, and Florida, giving her a broad understanding and respect for the issues facing communities in the United States. Her personal mission is to empower the BIPOC community in any way she can. In her free time, she enjoys visiting the beach and reading.
Carolina is a lifelong learner with a background in the arts and community engagement. Currently based in Santiago, Chile, she plays a key role in Commvey LLC, working on strategic partnerships, client relations, branding, social media, and large-scale projects. She holds a BFA in Film, Video, and New Genres from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is also an alum of Public Allies Milwaukee, where she gained experience in community engagement, organizing, event coordination, workshop facilitation, and justice-oriented work, including D.E.I and J.E.D.I frameworks. In her free time, Carolina enjoys photography, producing a global queer film podcast, experimenting with home cooking and ceramics.
As an avid musician and creative professional, Alex Piela has used his talents to build a thriving online presence for organizations across the country. Most notable has been his work with the Glenn Miller Orchestra; not only was Alex a featured soloist and vocalist with the group, he also became the social media manager and connected fans with the group’s performances. Alex has experience working on a myriad of digital platforms including Salesforce, Hubspot, WordPress, Hootsuite, Later, Yoast SEO, and others to create effective digital marketing and branding strategies. Alex has an enormous passion for working in the non-profit sector through teaching music to students across the Chicago area, and brings this passion to help other organizations increase their reach and scope.
Nick has been involved in political and nonprofit organizing for nearly 20 years. Born in West Virginia and raised in Ohio, he received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Berea College. His first political organizing job was during the 2004 election cycle, where he was responsible for Southeastern Ohio. Throughout his career, he has worked in various states including Florida, Texas, New Hampshire, Tennessee, and the Midwest. He has been successful in defeating anti-worker bills in Missouri and anti-choice bills in Florida. Additionally, he has experience in healthcare outreach, helping people get vaccinated and signed up for healthcare through the ACA. His main focus is on nonprofit healthcare outreach and prison reform. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews and taking care of puppies.
